A red wine of a handsome, intense colour with dark, purple hues.
The inviting intense dark red colour makes you curious to taste the Dionus 2016. In the nose it shows Amarena cherries and black currant. In the Gout it is very complex, mulberry, rowan berry, dried fruit, wild berries, black truffle, toffee, dark chocolate, all interwoven. With a little air and maturity, other flavours develop.
The 2016 vintage was a wonderful vintage, enough sun, not too hot, so Dionus 2016 shows elegance and complexity.
The grapes for the Dionus grow in the best sections of the vineyards. The harvest is delayed for a long time until the grapes have reached their maximum ripeness, but without being overripe. They have the full, concentrated aroma of each individual grape variety. The grapes are fermented and remain on the mash for 3 weeks to extract as many of the fully ripe ingredients as possible. After pressing, the young wine undergoes biological acid degradation in new French oak barrels and matures in it for three years until bottling.
Nose of wild berries, blackberries, mulberries, tart wild herbs such as rosemary and eucalyptus, some leather, somewhat closed on the palate at first, but with a little air, very complex and very dense structure, a real powerhouse, very sustainable.
